Tower of 8

The tower of eight it's the hardest castle ever to download. It is the most fragile castle of all and requires a great technique that is achieved with many hours of specific rehearsal. Unlike the lined figure-eight tower, the absence of this extra base of support is what gives the construction its extreme fragility.

Castellers de Vilafranca's first attempt at a tower of eight took place on All Saints' Day in 1999. In that same performance, they managed to charge it for the first time.

It took even more than ten years to see the eight tower completed. It was in the second round of All Saints' Day in 2010 when, for the first time in the history of the castells, Castellers de Vilafranca unloaded the tower of eight. The dream that had been brewing for more than ten years was finally completed.
