Castellers de Vilafranca resume the castle activity with a pillar of 5

This afternoon at the social headquarters of the Castellers in Vilafranca, Cal Figarot, the gang erected a pillar of 5 as part of the Graller Day events. They are thus resuming the activity within the gang's usual Casteller calendar, with one of the already traditional performances during the first months of the season, which last year had to be suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Castellers de Vilafranca have erected this pillar of 5 following at all times the sectoral plan of the Department of Culture and the protocol for the Castellera activity, which currently allows rehearsals and performances with a maximum of 20 people. To perform it, the gang has called on one of the castellers and castelleras groups that started rehearsing in Cal Figarot a few weeks ago.

The Castellers de Vilafranca hope that in the coming weeks the restrictions in force within the Casteller area will be relaxed so that they can soon carry out a Casteller performance, which includes three castells and a pillar. Until it is not possible, they will continue to raise pillars whenever they have the opportunity, following the castellar calendar, to claim that the castells, like any other cultural manifestation, are also safe.
