The Vilafranca gang will perform this weekend at the Diada de Cal Figarot and the Bisbal
Castellers de Vilafranca face the month of August with new castellers challenges and a final goal: the day of Sant Fèlix. The first Castellera date of August is this weekend, in Vilafranca, with the Cal Figarot day. The Greens will perform with the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, the Castellers de la Vila de Gràcia and the Minyons de l'Arboç. The day will be from 18:00 in front of the social headquarters of the Vilafranquins. Castellers de Vilafranca plan to make basic castells of 9 and a castle of eight with the needle or 5d8. As is usual, the Greens will also have a test at the end of the day. This year, they will be testing the 4d10fm.
The celebration of the 31st anniversary of Cal Figarot will begin with a parade through the streets of the town with the Àliga de Sant Julià, the Dragon of the Cabanyes and the Giant of the Peret del Pla at 17:00h. The celebration will also feature a new edition of the Ronda de Vermut, where the Castellers de Vilafranca will share experiences and sensations after the day, in a relaxed tone and with the doors of the social headquarters open. Afterwards, there will be a popular dinner and party with the music group 'Dalman & Company' and 'Dj Patata'.
On Monday, the Castellers de Vilafranca will perform at La Bisbal del Penedès, together with the two gangs from Valls. The Vilafranquins set higher goals, which will depend on this Friday's test. Castellers de Vilafranca intend to bring castells of Gamma Extra to the town of Baix Penedès.
Friday's rehearsal will start, as usual, at 21:30 at Cal Figarot.
