Next October, the San Francisco Catalan Week will be held, one of the most relevant events for the dissemination, promotion and international projection of Catalan popular culture ever held on the west coast of the United States. As part of this festival, for the first time in history, castells will be held in California. The Castellers de Vilafranca will be doing various performances and cultural activities in different places in the Bay of San Francisco.
The objective of our presence in this great city, one of the most important economic and cultural centers in the United States and in the world, has three main axes: to promote Catalan culture and Catalonia as a country and as a first-class tourist destination; promote the castells as a unique element of our culture and as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity; and promote Catalan wines and gastronomy.
We will achieve these goals by carrying out various performances, castellares, popular music concerts, cultural activities and numerous communication actions as part of the celebration of the San Francisco Catalan Week organized by the Casal Català del Nord de California as part of the celebrations of its 20th birthday
